Our new solar-electric boat from the Destiny series has been launched in the Satpura Tiger Reserve, Madhya Pradesh. Destiny will accompany you as you explore the lush biodiversity and witness the majestic tigers roaming in the reserve.
This is the third vessel from the Destiny series and our second solar-electric boat to operate in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The boat has a seating capacity for 12 passengers, measuring 7 metres in length and 3 metres in width. It offers spacious seating and a wide panoramic viewing area for its passengers. Powered by twin 8 kW Mako electric motors, the boat reaches a top speed of 8 knots. With an endurance of 6 hours at cruising speed, the boat can operate throughout the day, thanks to its twin 16.5 kWh Ray LFP marine-grade batteries and the 2 kW solar panels on the roof. One of its key features is easy manoeuvrability, with faster steering response and maintenance-free electric steering by ORCA.
The boat is ready to commence operations in the reservoir of the tiger reserve. Once operational, the solar-electric boat is expected to attract thousands of tourists to the reserve, thereby promoting eco-tourism. The boat’s silent, vibration-free, and emission-free performance ensures that both passengers and wildlife remain undisturbed, unlike conventional diesel or petrol boats.
The Satpura Tiger Reserve has set a unique example by introducing a solar-electric boat for wildlife tourism. This initiative is soon to be followed by the Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra, where two solar-electric boats built by Navalt will soon be operational.
In conclusion, solar-electric boats are perfect for eco-tourism in protected areas such as Tiger Reserves, Wildlife Sanctuaries, National Parks, or any eco-sensitive regions. They are harmless to biodiversity, eco-friendly, and highly economical to operate.
