Marine Project Engineer
The Role
The Marine Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising marine construction, shipbuilding, and repair projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to ensure timely project execution while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance with marine industry standards.
What we are looking for:
• Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture
• Minimum 2 years of experience in marine, shipbuilding, ship repair, or related project environments
• Strong leadership and project coordination skills in a shipyard or marine setting
• Ability to manage multiple projects, manpower, and operational priorities
• Proficiency in project documentation, reporting, and timekeeping tools
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Preferred candidates from Kerala with marine project experience
Responsibilities:
• Supervise day-to-day project execution to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion
• Review drawings, assess site feasibility, and ensure compliance with project specifications and marine standards
• Coordinate with Procurement and Stores for material inspection, verification, and availability
• Allocate subcontractors and workforce based on project schedules and requirements
• Monitor project progress and provide daily updates with reports and site photographs
• Track material consumption and maintain accurate inventory records
• Prepare project documentation, including daily reports, contractor timesheets, and work completion records
• Coordinate quality inspections with classification societies and regulatory authorities such as IRS and KIV
• Communicate project scope, schedules, and quality expectations to teams and vendors
• Develop weekly work plans, monitor manpower requirements, and report progress to the HOD
• Maintain safe working conditions, housekeeping standards, and participate in project review meetings
