Navalt, the foremost manufacturer of solar-electric boats in India, is transforming the mode of water transportation. As the common boats that run on fossil fuels they cause tremendous environmental issues like water, air and noise pollution. This will increase the carbon emission to the environment. But with solar-electric boats, this issue is minimalized. To add to this cause Navalt has now launched its latest destiny solar-electric boat in State Seed Farm Aluva. Let’s have a detailed look into this new venture of ours.
Aluva State Seed Farm
The country’s first carbon-neutral organic seed farm is Aluva State Seed Farm in Kerala. It is a 102-year-old seed farm located on Thuruth island in Periyar river. It is spread across 5.32 hectares of land. It is a role model for farmers across the world who are threatened by global warming. It’s been an organic seed farm since 2012 in the suburbs of Kochi. Since then, it has been taking many initiatives to reduce their carbon emissions which lead to a tremendous achievement in being a carbon neutral area.
Crops, livestock, poultry, and fish are all raised on the farm using an integrated farming approach. In addition to paddy types, they have native fish, goats, ducks, and cows, all of which contribute manure to the farm.
Destiny boat series
Destiny is one of our best series of solar-electric boats. It offers a silent emission free travel experience to the passengers together with not disturbing the ecosystem. It guarantees an unforgettable experience with its spacious interior and seamless handling. With the help of the ORCA electric steering system, Ray LFP battery packs, and twin Mako electric outboard motors, it is incredibly versatile. Destiny is the ideal combination of performance and sustainability, designed for low-cost, low-maintenance operation. Thus, we have launched our latest Destiny 6 in Periyar river Aluva.
Launch of Destiny 6
Cochin Shipyard Limited launched Destiny as a CSR project. In the Destiny series, this is the sixth boat that runs on solar power. It is capable of accommodating up to 15 passengers and is equipped with two 10 kWh Ray LFP batteries and two 6 kW electric outboards. Its range is increased by a 2-kW solar panel on top. A seamless commute is guaranteed by this sleek and secure solar electric boat.
On March 27, 2025, Kerala’s Minister of Agriculture, Shri P. Prasad, formally inaugurated the boat. MLA Shri Anwar Sadath, the Panchayat President, and other government representatives were also in presence. The minister honored Sandith Thandasherry, our CEO, who was in attendance.

How does this solar electric boat benefit the people?
Solar electric boats are one of the best means to promote sustainable travel options. In an area like this seed farm, where they promote sustainability and carbon neutral transportation and agriculture methods, our destiny solar boats are the top choice to maintain their views. This solar electric boat serves as the only option of transportation to enter into this island from the mainland. Being a farm area in the middle of the water, our boat also serves as a tourist option for the visitors to travel around the island to explore its beauty and farming.
