The Role

We are looking for a Battery Pack Development Engineer specializing in Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) technology to lead the design, development, and validation of high-performance LFP battery pack systems for electric boats.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in battery pack development, with specific expertise in LFP and LTO chemistry and applications

  • Proven track record in configuring and installing battery management systems (BMS)

  • Strong understanding of battery cell characteristics, thermal management, and safety systems

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations (UN38.3, IEC, UL, etc.)

  • Strong understanding of CAN communication protocol

  • Strong understanding of IoT systems

  • Regular travel to manufacturing or application sites both in India and internationally

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop LFP battery pack systems, including battery management systems (BMS), mechanical structure, and thermal management systems while optimizing for safety, performance, and cost-effectiveness

  • Create detailed engineering specifications, test plans, and design documentation for battery pack systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations

  • Lead the development of battery pack prototypes from concept through production, including component selection, integration, and validation testing

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of battery systems into final products

  • Troubleshoot technical issues during development and testing phases, implementing effective solutions to meet project requirements

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting

  • Experience with CAD software, simulation tools, and BMS configuration software tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering field

  • Experience with high-voltage battery systems for electric vehicles

  • Programming experience in C/C++ or Python
