The photovoltaic modules on the roof of the 20m ferry will be sufficient to charge the batteries for 6-hour operation everyday. During the cloudy days of Kerala, the ferry service will still be operational with secondary charging available at the dock.

Our manufacturing approach


NavAlt follows a ‘distributed manufacturing’ model to manufacture solar-electric ferries and boats. To speed up the delivery and lower the cost, NavAlt sets up delivery center at the client location, after identifying local partners. We design the boats and ferries according to the customised requirements of the client, and our engineers at the delivery centre ensure that the product is delivered on time and quality.
